Hillsdale Fair dates corrected for September event news

Saline considers new VFW post after Gee talks

George H. Gee, commander of Michigan VFW 5th District, met with overseas veterans and Saline civic leaders to discuss forming a local VFW post. He noted inquiries from area servicemen in service seeking a home unit and a qualified service officer to assist veterans welfare and rehabilitation.

Funeral services for Mrs Anna Guthardt in Saline

Funeral services were held Tuesday for Mrs Anna Guthardt a Saline resident for 50 years who died Sunday at Saline General Hospital aged 71. She was widow of John Guthardt married March 21 1895 and survived by one brother John Gray of Ann Arbor. Interment in Saline cemetery followed services at Lockwood funeral home.

Saline Community Fair Dates Set With Expanded Events

The Saline Community Fair will be held Thursday and Friday October 4 and 5. A horse pulling contest and enlarged riding class are planned with increased prizes.
