Community gatherings span Sept 10 to Oct 6 with bake sales bazaar ribbon sales and fellowship meetings. Notable events include St Paul Church bake sale Federated Church bazaar and multiple CES chapter meetings with open houses potluck dinners and anniversary remembrances.
At the 11 a.m. worship service on Sunday September 14 Baptism of Children will be conducted with Elder James Carman assisting Reception of new members into both congregations by letters of transfer by re affirmation of faith and by confession of faith
Miss Judy Jordan daughter of Mrs Leslie Jordan of Saline and the late Mr Jordan married Eugene Braun at St Thomas Catholic Church Ann Arbor. Officiant Rev Father Robert Schoff. The celebration included a reception at the Elks Club and a postnuptial trip to northern Michigan. The couple will reside at 721 East Huron Street Ann Arbor.
Miss Dolores Marion and Darrell Finkbeiner exchanged vows at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in a 8 p.m. ceremony Saturday attended by 250 guests. The couple, both Saline High School graduates, will reside in Saline after a Northern Michigan honeymoon trip.
Mrs. Clarence Johnson of Saline attended the Harper Hospital School of Nursing 75th anniversary in Detroit with a morning coffee hour and an evening banquet at the Hilton Statler. The piece recalls the school’s origins, notable principals, and alumni contributions to Saline and Detroit health work.

The Westminster Fellowship of Federated Church for high and junior high pupils resumed Sunday meetings. Next Sunday at 6 30 p m Eleanor Sullivan will lead devotions and Janice Nielson will present the program. Refreshments will be served by Carol and Beverly Jo Brown. On October 12 the group hosts a district Westminster Fellowship Workshop with representatives from fourteen churches in the area.
The Federated Ladies Aid Society will resume meetings on Wednesday September 17 at 8 PM in the church parlors. Mrs Paul Klueter president announces hostesses Mrs Raymond Armbruster and Mrs Eugene Feuerbacher. Mrs Clarence Johnson reads devotions and arranges music. The program by Mrs Wesley Nielsen covers Then There Are The Dishes To Wash and the Twelve Penny Donations project. Gifts for the Hospital Quota Box are requested.

Miss Gertrude Eagle of Santa Ana California died August 22 in Santa Ana. Graveside services were held at Oakwood Cemetery Saline on September 6 with cremation following. She was born August 9 1879 in Dexter Michigan to Thomas and Josephine Eagle. She lived in Saline and Detroit worked in Y M C A education departments then moved to California in 1927 with her mother. Survivors include sister Mrs Earl Bronson of Birmingham and brother Fred Eagle of Detroit.
