The Saline Community Chest met August 29 at Saline Savings Bank. Directors re elected to three year terms include Mrs Walter MacArthur Carl Curtiss Leon Vedder and Gerald Coe. New member Mrs Gordon Esch elected for coming year. Officers named William K Meister President Lauren Wild Vice President Luella Nambarth Treasurer Mrs Walter MacArthur Secretary and Wilson Scott fund drive chairman. A Sept 5 meeting at 8:00 p.m. at Saline Savings Bank will set the 1957 budget and invites organizations to submit funding requests.

Miss Saline Petite Nancy Reveling, Miss Saline 1957, competes for Michigan State Fair Queen 1957 at the State Fairgrounds on September 4. Gov. Mennen Williams will crown the 57th queen at 8:30 p.m. in the Music Shell. Reveling is among county fair queens in the opening day parade through Detroit and the 108th State Fair runs Aug. 30 through Sept. 8.

Neil Haarer earned first place with his heifer and second with his steer in both light and heavy weight Jr. Showing at the Michigan State Fair. In his fourth year, he plans to sell the two steers and bring back the two heifers. He also won Reserve Champion for his two heifers at a Lansing showing. He will show steers at Saline Community Fair and attend the Jackson Southern Michigan Fat Stock Show.
