St James Ev Lutheran Church Pastor C A Haneberg conducts services Sundays at 10 a m west of Saline on US 112 Irvine. St Johns Lath Bridgewater M C Philipp Pastor holds services at 10 a m with Sabbath school at 11. Sunday services held on the second and fourth Sundays. all are invited.

The Federated Church schedules Sunday worship at 10 30 a m with Sunday school at 11 30 a m noting rapid growth and perfect attendance awards. Young people meet at 6 45 p m led by Marie Finch. evening service at 7 45 p m features a sermon titled Jesus Meets a Politician. Wednesday Friendship class meets at Mrs Henderson’s home and Family Night is Tuesday Oct 24 with teachers as guests.
A Saline High homecoming week features a Thursday pep meeting at 2 PM with frosh and soph squads in old clothes, snake dances, park show, races, pillow and horse fights, a creek crossing tug of war, bonfire, speeches, and an evening theater show. Friday includes a pep meet and a football game versus Milan with a semi formal Varsity Club party to cap the week.
Saline residents urged to fund a sun room and provide comfort items for veterans at Fort Custer hospital Battle Creek shell shock cases. Red Cross has $300 of $500 goal and accepts magazines under two months old and various supplies. Donations drop at Ann Arbor Red Cross Motor Corps for monthly delivery.
