United War Fund Drive Opens Here With Call to Aid

The local drive aims for 600 dollars for the Community Chest and 1200 for the United War Fund, organized by Alwin Gross and civic groups to cover Saline sections. Lovely Wedding At St. Pauls

Miss Doris Finkbeiner and David Gordon married at St. Pauls church on Friday October 6. The ceremony was officiated by Rev. Alvin Siemsen with organist Lucile Henderson and singer Erwin Schmid performing wedding selections. The bride entered with her father as attendants lined the altar amid palms and fall flowers.

Matthew Seeger Dies After Long Illness

Matthew Seeger died Wednesday morning at his home on West Michigan Avenue after a long illness. He was born December 17, 1878, to Matthew and Christina Hack Seeger and farmed the old homestead. He married Mary Wackenhut December 30, 1908, and is survived by his wife, two daughters Elsie and Mrs Ardis Heininger, two sons Carl and Matthew, a son Frederick and Paul predeceased him, plus three brothers and two sisters and two grandchildren. Funeral services are Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Lockwood Funeral Home and 2 o’clock at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. H. L. Engel. burial in Union Cemetery, Saline Township.

Dexter Wedding Celebrates Lesser Burmeister Union

Mary Elizabeth Lesser and Leonard Burmeister wed Saturday night at St. Andrew's Church Dexter with Rev. Edward Drews officiating before about 200 guests. The bride wore slipper satin and white baby chrysanthemums. maid of honor Mildred Burmeister and best man Victor Haeussler assisted. The couple plans a weeklong trip and will reside at the Burmeister home.

Federation Plans for County Meeting in Ypsilanti

Saline Community Fair Performs Strong Public Attention

The Saline Community Fair drew large crowds Thursday and Friday with top winners across events.
