To Be Big Crop Of Muskrats And Mink
Lansing officials predict a bumper crop of muskrat and mink as high water aids marsh populations. Northern and southern Michigan areas supply the crop, with Lake Erie marshes reduced by flooding. With high fur prices, more youths and retirees will trap, aided by a $1 first trap fee and 10 cents for each additional trap. Michigan’s wild fur harvest typically nears $2,000,000 annually.
