Plans for the 1989 junior senior prom are under way with a Spanish hacienda theme. The event on Friday May 19 proceeds from a 6 45 p m banquet for juniors seniors board members and spouses to a 9 00 p m dance after an intermission. Each junior or senior may bring one guest and tickets are not sold, with balcony seating at ten cents for observers.
A city round of calls finds housewives engaged in a thorough clean-up campaign as grand weather boosts outdoor tasks. Neat gardens, tulip beds, and well kept lawns brighten streets. several residents are noted for their blooms and hospitality during visits.
In The Morning Mail a reader from West Point Nebraska signs a note to Mr Wilson and The Observer. She thanks for the paper, mentions enjoying Mr Leisser mer’s letter, and offers a check enclosed.
Saline and Inkster battled through 17 innings before darkness halted play with the game tied 2-2. Tessler pitched for Inkster, while Harvey Frey matched him in a second pitchers' duel this season.
Frederick Gi Stoll 69 a lifelong Washtenaw resident died Saturday night at his Waterworks Lane home in Lodi township from a heart attack per Coroner B C Ganzhorn Ann Arbor. Survived by three sisters and three brothers with funeral in Dietiker Home and burial at Lodi Plains cemetery. Special Legion meeting planned to discuss a school tennis plan.
James Campion of Ford Motor Company Dearborn spoke at the Rotary Club at The Tavern last Thursday. He displayed soy beans and byproducts along with automobile parts showing beans used for oil and potential meal uses for livestock feed and synthetic farm products. He noted soy crops yield high returns per acre and announced a local plant visit with a Milan plant tour to follow.
Council meeting in the Council Chamber on May 8 with Mayor Townsend presiding. Bills are approved, library funded for another year, park improvements funded, and a milk ordinance tabled. Budget presented at 14 381 38 with tax rate set at 8 per thousand, meeting adjourned.
Dr. Frank Gifford offers eye exams and glasses at the Milan Hotel from 2 30 to 9 30 pm each Saturday. Ray Rauser promoted Armstrong linoleum courses and offers free estimates with toll paid Saline calls. Rauser Seta Co. located at 210 West Washington Street.
