Ypsilanti educator Beth W. Milford seeks the Republican nomination for State Senator from Washtenaw County. Three Year Old Suffers Head Injury In Auto Accident

A Belleville boy aged three was listed as satisfactory and under observation at St. Joseph’s Hospital after falling from a car on U.S. 112 near Saline. Witnesses said the vehicle may have been traveling 45 to 50 mph when the boy rolled from the right rear door as he played with a latch. Police and ambulance crews rushed him to the Ann Arbor hospital where emergency first aid was given.

Uniloy Hoover Merger Approved

Hoover to acquire Uniloy by issuing 65 000 Hoover shares with 50 000 Uniloy shares becoming authorized. Net Hoover stock issued 15 000. Uniloy formed July 25 1951 to make tools and dies for Universal Die Corp now Hoover property. Saline Uniloy employs 35 in a 17000 square foot plant and aims to supply tools and dies.

Saline Area School rises as Kurtz builds vast complex

Construction on the Saline Area School at S Ann Arbor Saline Rd proceeds with Kurtz Building Co ahead on steel and brick. The 96 acre site includes 149 areas, science and technical shops, a large gym with 2400 seating, a 350 seat auditorium, cafeteria for 600, inner landscaped courtyard and extensive safety features with gas heating and a sprinkler-like system under development. The district plans for 800 capacity with possible expansion to 1200 and hopes for completion earlier than 1959 while noting 2-3 buses serve most students.
