Thelma Wahl Weds Bernard Stremler in Saline Ceremony
Thelma Wahl daughter of Mr and Mrs David Wahl of Saline married Bernard Stremler son of Mr and Mrs Jacob Stremler of Holland in a double ring ceremony at St Pauls Evangelical Church Saline on Saturday July 10 Rev Alvin Siemsen officiated. The bride wore a white nylon tulle gown with portrait neckline and a silk illusion veil designed by her mother. A colonial bouquet of white roses with camellia centers accompanied the bridal party including maid of honor Donna Wahl and bridesmaids from Holland Ridley Park Saline and Tullahoma. Best man Louis Stempfly Jr. and ushers Alton Wahl James Schierbeek Gordon Keen Lawrence Peck attended. Reception followed in church parlors with extensive host committee and wedding guests. After a wedding trip to Canada the couple will reside at 90 West 18th Street Holland. The bride is a trained x ray technician at Holland Hospital and the groom, a Hope College student in pre medicine, belongs to Chi Phi Sigma.

Death of Simeon R. Wilson in Marysville Washington
Simeon Robert Wilson, born October 13 1874 in Jackson Michigan, died July 16 in Marysville Washington. A former publisher in Boyne City and Saline he led the Saline Observer from 1912 to 1945 and was involved in Rotary and the Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his wife Grace Browne and children Simeon Jr and others. Funeral services were held at Schaffer Funeral Home with burial in Marysville Cemetery.

The bride sang as a soloist performing Because I Love You Truly and The Lord's Prayer. The bride's mother wore a mauve lace dress with white accessories and carried pink and white roses and mums. The groom's mother wore a blue print dress with white accessories and carried yellow and white roses and mums.

James Austin of Saline wins first chair trumpet in the Honors Orchestra at the National Music Camp in Interlochen Michigan. He was chosen to play the morning call as the flag rose at 7 am during the camp's first week. The orchestra opens its season Saturday. Saline votes on sewage system bond issue and school bids
Saline face bid results for a new 20 room elementary school with three close offers around 435000. The city plans 180000 general obligation bonds and 205000 revenue bonds to fund a sewage disposal plant and sewer repairs, raising about five mills in taxes with water rates.
