Ground Breaking Held on Sunday for Saline Church
Members of the First Assembly of God Church in Saline held a Sunday afternoon ground breaking for a new L shaped brick and stone church. Rev George E Moore spoke and trustees C T Rudduck Milford Rudduck Garland Bush and White of Wayne attended. The building budget is 31500 with a 24 by 34 foot chapel and a 30 by 64 foot pastor residence. Ernest Krause of Ann Arbor is contractor. Site at Bemis Rd and Maple St near East Michigan Ave covers 334 acres from the Fred Braun farm. The church organized two years ago now has 35 members and met previously in the Rudduck residence and Saline Savings Bank.

City and School District Reach Sewer and Water Agreement
City and the School District formalized a three party plan to install a 10 inch water main from the Water Works to the school and a sewer from the school to the Sewage Disposal Plant. Local Student Lannie Robbins Earns State Orchestra Seat

Saline residents received notification from General Telephone Co of Tecumseh about extended dial service to Ann Arbor. The program includes toll free calls between Ann Arbor and Saline, while Manchester Milan and Dexter remain on current tolls. Veterans warned not to drop GI insurance upon reentry
Lloyd H. Jameson of the Detroit regional VA office warns veterans returning to service not to drop GI insurance in hopes of free coverage. Head On Crash Injures Five Saline Residents
A Friday head on collision on US-112 injured five Saline residents and four Detroiters. Saline police investigated a minor traffic collision at Hall and U S 112 last Friday about 1 45 pm. Carmen Crandell 15 of 432 West Main Hudson drove a car owned by Walter Crandell and held a restricted instruction permit for six months. Fern Bidle Vossom 210 Maple Saline drove the other car. damage totaled about 50 dollars to Vossom’s vehicle and the Crandell car sustained heavier damage.
