Saline Area Band Parents Club meets January 15 at 8 pm in Saline High Band Room to view a 1956 Grande Canyon Suite film by Ferde Grofe. The showing, produced by National Music Camp at Interlochen, features scenes of the Grand Canyon and the National Camp, directed by Dr. Joseph Madden. Plans are made for local students to attend Interlochen for a week to rehearse football shows and a fall concert as a complete unit.

Services Held For Mrs Ellen Collins
Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at 2 pm at Corkery Collins Funeral Home for Mrs Ellen P Shei Collins Pennington Collins, who died suddenly aged 27 at Macon. Daughter of Wesley and Maria Remington Pennington, she married Wilmot Collins on January 15 1908. A Macon resident and Tecumseh club member, she lived with her daughter Mrs Mabel Needham in Saline township. Survived by two sisters Mrs Needham and Mrs Rose Gilmore, Macon, two brothers Maurice Pennington of Tipton and Grant Pennington of Van Nuys CA, and several nieces and nephews. Interment in Macon Cemetery conducted by Rev Donald Bates.

Gottlob Christian Henzler 78 of 608 N Hickory St Owosso Michigan died Monday December 23 after seven weeks illness spent at his son Earl’s home Funeral services were held December 26 at Salem Lutheran Church with Rev Kenneth W Wertz officiating Burial at Oak Hill Cemetery He was born August 20 1879 in Raidwangang Germany came to the U S in 1894 settled in Saline moved to Owosso after marrying Christina V Theater on September 17 1913 Mrs Henzler died December 1 1947 He was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Lutheran Fraternities of America Survivors include two sons Paul F of Spring Grove Minnesota and Earl L of Owosso three granddaughters two grandsons and one brother J Rhainhold of Milwaukee Wisconsin.
