Edward Bohnet Funeral Held on Saturday
Edward H. Bohnet eighty one a retired carpenter contractor died Thursday morning at the Saline Convalescent Home after a long illness. He lived at 928 Sylvan Avenue and 1129 Michigan Avenue previously. Born January 9 1876 in Pittsfield Township he was the son of John George and Caroline Doss Bohner. Survived by wife Sophia Newhouse a daughter Mrs Francis C Wehr of Ypsilanti and three grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday at Muehlig Chapel with Rev E C Stelhorn officiating. Burial was in Forest Hill Cemetery.

Saline Bands Sweep Top Area Honors in Contest
Saline High School Concert Band and the Junior High Band topped district class C competitions with first division ratings. The Senior High Band earned a unanimous first division and the Junior High Band also received a first division. The Junior High Intermediate Band earned third division. The High School band advances to the State Festival in East Lansing on April 13 and plans a spring tour.

Two Detroiters Hurt in Stolen Car Crash
Two Detroit men were seriously injured when a stolen 1956 car driven by Edward Altman 29 crashed four miles west of Saline at 5 45 am on US 112. Altman and Burchell Radcliffe 43 were taken to Herrick Memorial Hospital Tecumseh then University Hospital Ann Arbor. Altman suffered a collapsed lung fractured leg and multiple injuries while Radcliffe had a fractured skull deep head cuts and a lung injury.
