Saline High School Band to perform January shows
The Saline High School Band is set for January 2 and 3 with Gandi Bowen and Lee Thoss as Mistress and Master of Ceremonies, both veterans of last year's show. A model home will be built at Ann Street by Wilshire Construction Co of Detroit, and another on Canterbury Drive in Golden Acres. City Clerk E. J. Muir notes tax payments are improving slowly, attributing the Christmas period to delays.

Burglary Attempt at City Attorney Roesch Office
An inept burglary at 111 N Arbor St targetted the City Attorney Stanton Roesch's law offices last Tuesday night. Only a small cash sum and some checks were taken before the would be thief fled, Roesch said, adding payment on the checks was stopped the next day.

Police arrest a man after a neighbor reports a peep through a window at Norman Taylor's residence in Saline early Friday. Donald Parks, found in snow nearby, was jailed and later released on a $50 bond. he pled nolo contendere at municipal court and awaits sentencing on January 2.

Pie Baking Contest Set For Jan 10 In Ann Arbor
A county wide Cherry Pie Baking Contest will be held in the Michigan Consolidated Gas Company Auditorium in Ann Arbor on Saturday January 10. Contestants must be unmarried and 14 or older by January 1 1959. Prizes include an all expense trip to Grand Rapids for the state contest January 29 30.
