Katherine Jedele Ernst aged 84 died Tuesday afternoon after a long illness at the home of her daughter Mrs. George Geisel in Ann Arbor. Born September 10, 1859 in Freedom township she married C A Ernst who died in 1922. Survived by four daughters two sons nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Funeral at Emmanuel church Manchester with burial in Oak Grove cemetery.

The Saline Womans Club gathered at Mrs Gordon Anthonys home on Tuesday December 14 with Mrs Rudolph Hertler leading a program on Mother Craft in War. Mrs Webb Harwood and Mrs Hertler presented papers on the topic and the Mother Craft Invocation was read by Mrs Luther Briggs. The next meeting is set for December 28 at the Red Cross rooms and January 4 at Mrs Arthur Armbrusters home. Dinner plates carved from salt slabs are noted as used in China to season food.
