Salinettes Return From Western Trip

Charles Alber and his daughter Mrs. Stephenson with Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Armbruster return to Saline after a three week trip to Seattle and national parks. They visited Glazier National park Grand Coulee Dam Mt Ranier and Yellowstone and met friends in Indianapolis Cincinnati and Allison Iowa.

City Purchases A New Fire Truck For Saline

Saline's fire department gains efficiency with a modern Ford chassis truck built by General Fire Truck Company Detroit. It carries two ladders 14 ft and 32 ft, 600 feet of hose, two hand chemical pumps, and a 300 gallon water tank. The pump can draw water from the tank or a hydrant.

Waldo M. Jedele dies after brief illness at 23

Waldo M. Jedele age 23 son of Mrs Emma Jedele of Scio township died Sunday night at his home after a brief illness. Born April 6 1916 in Lodi he was a member of Salems Lutheran church Scio. Survived by mother five brothers Alfred Edgar Paul of Scio Herman Raymond of Lodi five sisters Mrs Rudolph Vogel Ann Arbor Mrs Paul Gens ley and Mrs Harold Drake both of Lodi Mrs Reuben Marion Saline township and Mrs Edward Wenk Freedom Township plus several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 1 30 at the residence and 2 at Salems Lutheran church Scio with Rev Arthur Wacker officiating. Interment in church cemetery.

Saline Merchants defeated Plymouth Allen 12 to 4 Sunday afternoon in Inter-county League action. Owen heeft allowed four hits for Saline while Plymouth Allen managed limited offense. Northville visits Saline next Sunday as the Merchants improve to eight victories and six losses.
