April in War Time Gardens and News from 1945

A reflective piece on spring gardens in late April 1945 with blooming fruit trees and flowers, alongside wartime notes. It recalls Susans fond misadventure with perfume and shifts to wartime concerns about Glasnost era figures Nie Moeller and Kagawa, plus commentary on workforce shifts in war production and essential labor debates.

Housekeeping Methods Warn on Food Supply Strain

The passage questions effects of labor shortfalls on food stores and consumption. It argues that forcing closures would test whether food and eating are regarded as essential by all social ranks. It also urges capturing Hitler and confronting him with the prison camps he supported to reveal his crimes.
