The Saline Area Schools board selected an 80 acre site for a new high school on Dr Lloyd Steiner's farm one mile north of Saline. The property fronts 682 feet on Saline Ann Arbor Road between Oliver Steiner's house and Charles Schultz farm, extending to Maple Road with the railroad to the south. Price was 500 dollars per acre. Architect Guida Binda will draft building plans.
William I Scheel, a 59 year old Salem township supervisor, was elected chairman of the Board of Supervisors by unanimous vote. Clayton Parr of Manchester township was chosen vice president and Scheel succeeds W Frederick of Ann Arbor township who chaired the board last year. New supervisors attending the meeting included George Bauer Jr Lyndon township Russell Hughes Bridgewater township and Franklin J Shepherd Ypsilanti township.
The Michigan Adult Education Association of Michigan heads to Grand Rapids for its annual conference May 23 and 24 with headquarters at the Pantlind Hotel. Dan Reed of the Michigan Farm Bureau presides, with Dr. Allen Whiting of Michigan State University speaking at the Thursday noon luncheon and Bibert Burr of Missouri addressing the Thursday dinner. The program planning committee includes Muriel Fuller Louise Reese and Helen Gleason, and Dr. Ralph Rabinovitch will speak on May 22 at Pantlind Hotel. The theme is Public Opinion Your Voice Can Be Heard.
The Young People's Union hosts a cooperative Easter Sunrise Service at 6 30 near Federated Church with E G Nutting presiding. The program features a pageant From Darkness To Light directed by Mrs Henry McKenzie, musical numbers arranged by Mrs George Austin, and performances by Carol Johnson Nancy Reveling Betty Smith and others.
The Saline Jaycees sponsor the sixth annual Easter Egg Hunt at the city park this Saturday at 2:30 PM. The event welcomes toddlers through fourth grade, and last year drew over 200 children with expectations of similar turnout this year.
Washtenaw County campaign workers for the Society for Crippled Children and Adults report the Easter Seals sale has surpassed ten thousand dollars with the week’s efforts close to twelve thousand. The drive, led by county residents, continues to promote services for crippled children and adults within the community.

Sarah Campbell, a junior from 206 S Davenport, Saline, is named in the MSU cast of the comedy Zaragueta. The play, by Niguel Ramos Carrion and Vital Aza, is presented by Sigma Delta Pi and features action filled scenes for students faculty and guests on campus.
A Saline Nursery Association announces a meeting on April 23 inviting members and residents to attend and hear about upcoming activities and plans.
