Mr and Mrs Jack Loper were surprised on Sunday evening by East ern Star officers and their husbands with a house warming at their new Saline Milan Road home. A pot luck supper was served and 24 members attended giving a monetary gift.
The Child Study Club will meet Tuesday night April 20 at 8:00 at 205 East Michigan Ave. Mrs. Gerald Coe hosts. Dr. J N T Struthers of Ypsilanti State Hospital will speak on Providing Mental Health for Your Children. Hostesses are Maxine Krempel Alberta Larson and Anne Coe.
Ten years after opening in April 1944 Universal Die Casting & Manufacturing Corp began as a small operation in a Saline creamery. It expanded to a 60,000 square foot Saline plant, a 25,000 square foot Fowlerville facility, an Arkansas aluminum plant, and a modern Ann Arbor office, employing hundreds and powering regional industry growth.

Mr Dwight Reynolds outlined shop curriculum aims and safety. extra playground supervision was discussed. a tea for kindergarten parents was moved to September. nominations for 1954 55 chairmen were received with Mrs Howard Johnson elected. The Saline Jaycees promote an Easter Egg Hunt April 17 at 1 30 PM on the school grounds with 24 prizes and divisions by age and grade.
Mr. and Mrs. William Law of Saline welcome a son born April 7. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Stockwell of Manchester welcome a son born April 11. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Eadie of Saline welcome a son born April 13. Tonsillectomies: Jean London David London and Thomas London of Milan. Eldean Wiedmayer Manchester Deborah Hess Saine Gen Taylor Milan Richard Dindoffer Milan.
Mr and Mrs George Martin hosted a neighborhood gathering Saturday night for Sam Lambarth and his wife before they depart for Germany. They plan to sail from New York on April 23 aboard the America. Guests included Mr and Mrs Alwin Gross Mr and Mrs Bliss Curtiss Mr and Mrs Elmer Hinderer Mr and Mrs Call Bredernitz Mr and Mrs Harry Anderson and Mrs Leonard Hutzel. Each guest received a gift and euchre provided entertainment followed by refreshments.
Harold Jim Green of Ann Arbor is the new manager of Pool's Radio and TV in Saline area. He is a former U S Air Force technician and served as service manager in Ann Arbor since November. Police report a Saline collision between William Desbrogh and Mrs Dennis Helmick with extensive damage to Helmick's car.
City of Saline requires all peddlers or solicitors to hold a license. Residents are urged to contact the Saline Police Department if a person comes to the door without a proper permit.
The final opportunity to receive a discount on water bills falls on Thursday April 15. The notice advises customers to pay by the due date to avoid penalties.
