Saline’s First Frame Home Built by Orrin Parsons in 1829
The first frame residence in Saline, known as the Briggs farm, was erected in 1829 by Orrin Parsons. The house sits beside the Saline airport on the old Saline Monroe road and retains much of its original front while featuring later additions. An underground tunnel on the property reportedly served as a shelter for runaway slaves bound for Canada.
