Taxed Roswell proposes gross receipts levy for five years
A 0.125 percent gross receipts tax would raise the Roswell purchase rate from 6.5 to 6.625 percent, adding 13 cents on a $100 buy. Officials say the $800,000 annual gain would fund economic development for five years, with panels selecting projects for council approval. Town meetings are planned in July to explain the plan and gather public input.
