Mr and Mrs Dan De Jonge visited Mr and Mrs Will Hubbling at Hull Friday evening. Mr and Mrs L J McGivern of Marcus spent Sunday afternoon with Mr and Mrs F T McGill.
In the afternoon women league Bonnie Smith led both high game 192 and high series 415 for Valley Lanes, while Valley Lines 58 30 Plougher and Son 64 34 Blue Bunny 50% 376. Agnes Van Zee led the women’s league with high game 214 and Jo Miller high series 518. Scores 170+ included Van Zee 214 Verla Ten Haken 212 Jo Miller 181 173 Donna Bonthuis 181 Gert Jocker 177 176 Martha Van Holland 177 Joyce Sanrema 173. Jo Miller 518 and Agnes Van Zee 513 topped 500s.
Town of Rock Valley Iowa adopts an ordinance vacating the north 213.9 feet of Walnut Street now 17th Avenue between blocks one and two in Van Roekel's Addition. Passed March 1968 by unanimous vote. Mayor Adrian Oldenkamp and Clerk Robert Kaufman signed. Section 1 vacates remaining Walnut Street portion between blocks one.
Mrs Hans Moeller and spouse visited Walter Moore Sr. over the weekend. Our Savior's Lutheran women attended World Day of Prayer at Peace Lutheran, hosted by Mrs Raymond Miller and Mrs Emil Lange. Rural Study Club met at Ann Hass's home with Emma Miller presenting a book report and Edna Winterfeld discussing music. Harry Serck birthday event in Inwood drew locals on Saturday night. Ted Quarnstrom and family with Amanda Miller visited Raymond Miller's home. John Van Binsbergen and wife called on Marvin Mouw Thursday.
