Martin McNamara dies after long illness in Rock Valley
He died Saturday February 28 after a lengthy illness. Requiem mass was sung at St Marys Church at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday for Martin McNamara 85 born in County Clare Ireland September 4 1880 and who came to the United States in 1902. Burial was at St Marys Cemetery. Survivors include eight nephews and seven nieces. Porter Funeral Home handled arrangements. Joanne De Bruin daughter of Mr and Mrs Gerrit De Bruin was in the State College of Town concert band during the winter tour.

Inwood Woman's Club to Sponsor Library Benefit
The Inwood Woman's Club plans a library benefit style show on Friday March 11 at 2 00 pm in the Inwood gym. Al Shannon music inspector at Inwood school will provide background music and direct the West Lyons high school swing band. Mrs Al Shannon and Grace Erickson perform piano and organ duet. Shannon's students will offer musical selections. The Sioux County Chapter of the American Cancer Society held its quarterly meeting Feb 21 at the Sioux Center municipal building with eight board members present. new chairs were named for regional areas and two films were shown. John Landhuis, retired barber, demonstrated canvases he has painted since retirement, including portraits of Eisenhower Kennedy and others, at an Inwood Kiwanis gathering hosted by Hermen Van't Hui and Al Porter.
