Disability Plan Eases Credit Rules for Young Workers
John R. Goldwan of the Social Security Administration Sioux City district explains a change in disability rules. Under prior law a worker needed five years of work credits, but now those aged 21 to 31 can qualify with half the time before disability begins, and those disabled before 24 need only half of the three-year period. The update improves protection for younger workers and their families.
