Farm Barn Fire Attacked Near Rock Valley

De Boer and Eppinga in Two Car Crash
A two car collision occurred south of Rowa in front of the Junior Kooima farm place on Monday afternoon. Involved were a car owned by Bill De Boer and a pickup owned by Dick Eppinga. Estimated damage totaled 400 to the De Boer vehicle and 100 to Eppinga’s. The accident was investigated by the Highway Patrol, with no injuries reported.

Calf on county road collides with car near Doon
Pedro Eldon Ahlers, 27, and a passenger escaped injury when his 1967 Buick struck a 500 to 600 pound calf on the Lyon county blacktop one mile south of Doon at 2 am Saturday. The calf was killed, valued at $125, and Buick damage was put at $400 to the right front. Sheriff’s officials investigated the crash.
