Fire destroys barn and hay with missing boy found nearby
A Wednesday night fire roared through the Vincent Stubbe farm six miles west and three south of here, burning a barn and 800 bales of hay. Strubbe’s four year old son Mark was missing during the blaze but was later found down the lane near a mailbox, unharmed. The upper floor collapsed as the family searched, and faulty wiring is blamed. The property and contents were insured.
