Citizens unite to curb Desplaines River pollution
An attorney outlined a lengthy injunction battle over Desplaines River pollution affecting LaGrange residents for five years. The plan seeks state sanitary board action with the attorney general backing. An executive committee was formed including Wm. Paarlberg, G. C. Brown, Judge Webb, Edwin Waterman, Walter Haines, Jacob DeYoung, Engineer Ashdown and others to organize a permanent anti nuisance group. A South Holland Izaak Walton lunch followed, and a next meeting is planned.
