Riverdale Pumping Station OK'd After Test Run
Officials approve a functioning storm water pumping station at 146th and Union Riverdale after a Saturday morning test. Frank Mraz says four hours were needed to fill the system and show water flow into the Little Calumet River. The plant includes two 30 000 gallon per minute pumps a 28 foot well and an automatic sluicegate system. Total station cost is 100 200 with seven thousand dollars for equipment. St Jude Clubwomen Sell Rummage to Aid Parish Nuns
The Woman's Club of St Jude the Apostle of South Holland announces a rummage sale on October 27 28 29 and 31 at the former St Jude quarters near Sibley River Road. The event supports the parish nuns with a portion of proceeds added to their Christmas fund. Suspect Stopped For Speeding Named As Gas Station Robber
Dalton police stopped John Malecky 23 of Oak Forest after a speeding call near Calumet City. He was charged with holdup of a gas station at 159th and Torrence and fleeing with $35. Police pursued after his car sped away and he was found in a driveway with cash and a questionable paycheck stub.

Buses Announced for Derwinski Stratton Rally
