Scout Eagle Rank Highlighted At Delton Court Of Honor
Boy Scout Troop 374 in Delton, sponsored by Anie Greater Dol im Memarks Veterans of Foreign Wars, held its annual Court of Honor on Monday October WM at 7:30 p.m. at Berge School. Two Scouts earned the Eagle rank bringing the total to nine Eagles in the troop with several still active. Eagles awarded: Gary R. Newcomer and Robert B. son, speaker Robert Richards, and other Scouts receiving advancement. Mothers pinned medals as Chief Scout Mscout sent a letter. Other new scouts to be invested include DalSanto Fryin Gasser James Tiersma and Lawrence May. First Class recipients listed.

Six Months For Burglary and Assault in Cook County
Martin Holland 26 of Harrisburg Pa found guilty of burglary and assault with intent to kill in a Cook County court. Judge Richard Austin sentenced him to six months in the House of Correction and two years probation. He was arrested by Officer John Binkema after being caught burglarizing Ward's Fruit Stand at 162nd and State and striking a man on the head with a hammer.

Charles and Richard Wentzel hosted a surprise 26th wedding anniversary dinner for their parents at the American Lesson Hall in Riverdale on Sunday October 23 with about 150 guests. Attendees included Mrs. Eric Aldren and Donald Wentzel with relatives from Chicago Mentone and Kewanna. The Wentzels married October 36 1935 in Chicago and moved to Riverdale in 1940. Riverdale fire department responded to the incident. cause undetermined.

Tractor Fire Drives Spread at Riverdale Dump
Riverdale firefighters contained a blaze that damaged four tractors at the city dump near 138th and Rasine on Saturday afternoon. A welder was repairing one tractor when grease ignited, causing the fire that burned five units.
