The Dalton Riverdale Unit 52 of Illinois sent afghans to Vaughn General and Gardiner General hospitals and supported hospital recreation. They supplied prizes, candy, and supplies, sent bedside slippers, laundry bags, a guitar, junk jewelry for barter, and birthday and Christmas greetings to service members. They also aided dinners for service spouses and veterans groups, and look forward to continued community support in 1945.

Garry Brothers Update From War Service
Sgt Charles L Garry son of Mr and Mrs Andrew V Garry of Dalton was wounded December 26 and is now confined to Foster General hospital Jackson Mississippi. He was flown to the States via Paris and arrived in New York on April 20. His brother Ensign Andrew J Garry left for overseas duty in the Pacific about a month ago. Another brother, Thomas, in the navy has been promoted to machinist mate second class.
