Rams runners dominate Cleveland Invite

Rio Rancho High School teams swept the Cleveland Invitational with the boys scoring 20 and the girls 44. ARHS led a five-runner pack in the top eight as Devin Paredes won the boys race in 16:00 and Andi Almodovar led the Rams girls while teammates Reina Paredes, Sierra Delaware, and Molly Klemm backed her to post a 19 41 fourth place finish. The Rams topped Los Alamos and Albuquerque Academy in a nine and eight team field respectively. The Storm placed second with Yonas Haile and Amanda Mayoral leading their squads.

RRHS Sports Hall of Fame welcomes seven new members

Rio Rancho High School will induct its Class of 2015 into the Sports Hall of Fame on Friday. Inductees include Brittany Burter, Stephanie Hightower, Brandon McKinney, Brian Pitts, coaches Jennifer Boyden and Bob McIntyre, and contributor Gary Hreem. A 4 p.m reception in the AAHS cafeteria precedes introductions at halftime of the homecoming football game.

Rams fall to Academy ends Rio Rancho run of seven straight wins

Rio Rancho High School boys soccer saw its seven game win streak end as Albuquerque Academy edged the Rams 1-0 on a 39th minute strike by Jayson Baca. Rams goalkeeper Nate Weaver made eight saves, while Academy keeper Ryan O Malley matched with two. Rams junior Kevin Aguilar left late with a knee injury but coaches expect him back soon. Academy remained No. 1 in 1-6A as district play looms with Cleveland and Valley also in action alongside Rio Rancho and Academy.
