Stand-up Comedy and Music Night at Santa Ana Star Stage

Sept 24 at Santa Ana Star Casino features Marc Yaffee Ric Hillman and Roy Bates in a comedy lineup with doors at 6 30 p.m. and shows at 7 30 p.m. The Stage hosts a family friendly night including a pumpkin patch and Galloping Grace Youth Ranch programs. Banned Books Week Highlighted at Loma Colorado Main Library

Banned Books Week runs today through Saturday as a national event celebrating freedom to read. The Loma Colorado Main Library invites visitors to view challenged titles old and new, underscoring free and open access to information.

Tijerina Acoustic Trio at Lounge 54 tonight and Saturday

The Tijerina Acoustic Trio brings a rock blues blend to Lounge 54 with front man Todd Tijerina a writer guitarist and singer. The group blends funk rock and jazz and earned four New Mexico Music Award nominations in 2011 winning Blues Song of the Year for Nothin Like the Blues. admission is free for 21 plus audiences.

Gods Slave film projected at Loma Colorado Main Library

An international film presentation based on the 1994 Buenos Aires bombing screens at 2 pm at Loma Colorado Main Library. The event, funded by Friends of the Rio Rancho Library, follows Ahmed and David in a tense plot about a planned synagogue bombing and a counteroperation.

Pumpkin Patch Opens at Galloping Grace Youth Ranch

Pumpkin Patch launches today at the upper west parking lot of Santa Ana Star Center and runs through October 31. Hours are Tuesday through Sunday 9 a.m. to 6 30 p.m. plus Monday October 26 9 a.m. to 6 30 p.m. Closing noon October 31 subject to pumpkin availability. No admission fee and all ages welcome.

Old Placitas photos exhibit marks 50th anniversary

Placitas Community Library hosts an exhibit titled Los Jardineros de Placitas with photos and memorabilia from 1965 onward. The display highlights five decades of club activities, now a social and charitable group open to all Placitas residents, with programs on art, authors, health, history and travel, throughout September.
