A compiled police blotter lists arrests and charges in Rio Rancho and nearby areas from July 31 through Sept 13. Names ages and addresses are included with warrants, felonies, DWIs, shoplifting, assaults, and other offenses recorded by the Rio Rancho Police Department.

Sandoval County investigators say James Garcia, 31, Albuquerque, broke into the Placitas residence at 874 NM 165 between 6 and 6 30 am wearing black clothes and mask carrying multiple weapons. The resident Mark Richardson, 59, shot Garcia during a struggle. Richardson was treated for injuries. Detectives found over 200 marijuana plants and growing equipment during a search warrant at the home. New Mexico State Police assisted.
Terrance Rinaldi 32 of Rio Rancho received a 36 month federal prison term for felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition. He will serve three years supervised release. Arrested Oct 27 2014 for unlawful possession in Sandoval County following prior involuntary manslaughter and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon convictions. May 14 plea entered without a plea agreement. Case handled by ATF Rio Rancho PD and AUSA David M. Walsh.
Richard A. Archuleta, 39, of Rio Rancho, received 92 months in federal prison plus three years supervised release for felon in possession of firearms and ammunition. Arrest linked to 2013 and 2014 firearm charges in Bernalillo County. prior convictions included aggravated battery and sex offender registration. Prosecutor M. Walsh led the case.
Jony Gordon, 39, entered not guilty pleas in Bernalillo District Court to seven charges including shooting from a vehicle and three counts of aggravated battery. The incident near Melissa Road and Viola Lane left Gordon and another person injured. Victims Maria Carter and Cherish Hogan were involved as witnesses described the gunfire and a near-fatal confrontation. Gordon was arraigned before Judge George Eichwald and released on his own recognizance with travel and contact restrictions.
