Pit bulls euthanized after attack on service dog

Rogers said two pit bulls owned by a neighborhood resident attacked a German shepherd service dog. The service dog required emergency surgery and remains fragile while the owner surrendered the dogs to animal control rather than face a citation. The owner’s name has not been released.

District judges recused in Dominguez proceedings

A blanket recusal bars 13th Judicial District judges from presiding over the case against Sandoval County Commissioner James Dominguez. Chief District Judge Louis McDonald signed the recusal, citing ethics and impartiality concerns. Dominguez faces nine counts, mostly misdemeanors, with one felony for false imprisonment.
