Ambulance charges rise in Rio Rancho after study
The Rio Rancho Department of Public Safety raises ambulance fees for Basic and Advanced Life Support services. Rates increase to 200 and 350 dollars respectively, plus 3 dollars per mile to hospital, first mile free. A 50 cent per mile rise and a new 50 dollar non-transport fee are included. The City Council approved 5-1 amid concerns for uninsured and seniors.
