St Joseph West Mesa Hospital will host an orientation for youth volunteers on Saturday May 30 at 10 30 am in Celestia Hall. Prospective volunteers must be 14 years old and attend orientation. Residents asked to help in solving 2 burglaries
Rio Rancho residents are urged to assist in solving two recent burglaries at the same family home on Southern Blvd near Cedar Hills. The first break in on Mother's Day stole a video recorder. three days later a front door entry netted a stereo system, a complete computer system, a black and white portable television, and tapes. Detective Mike Chinigo requests tips about a vehicle in the driveway on May 10 or May 13. The home has faced four burglaries in two months.

CHS Student Anne Burgess Wins Maloof Memorial Scholarship
Cibola High School senior Anne Burgess earned the Ninth Annual George J. Maloof Memorial Scholarship, a $1,000 award split by academics and athletics. Named from 13 nominees by a 15 member panel, Burgess is a 3.9 GPA student ranked 10th in a 400-student class, active in National Honor Society, Key Club, and sports.
