Broadmoor Avenue extension gains city approval and funding
The Rio Rancho city council approved a $3.25 million Broadmoor Boulevard extension from Northern Boulevard to the City Center area. Funds come from a New Mexico DOT grant, higher education facilities gross receipts tax, and city impact fees. A $2.68 million Franklin's Earthmoving Inc. contract was awarded for the build, with Wilson & Company paid $316,460 for oversight and $254,343 for utility relocations. The project aims to create a new north south entrance, improving access to City Center, UNM West, CNM, Sandoval Regional Medical Center and Santa Ana Star Center, with completion expected in December.
