Former Ram faces battle against the big C cancer
Twenty year old former Rio Rancho High School football player and Rams wrestler Joey Natewa was diagnosed with cancer after earlier headaches migraines and vomiting. He attended the University of New Mexico with plans to become a pharmacist and now undergoes six months of chemotherapy followed by five years of maintenance. Natewa’s condition prompted visits to local hospitals ending at Presbyterian Rust Medical Center where his white blood cell count was about 70 000.

ARPS Faces $200k Claim Over Delayed School Expansion

Governing body OKs chickens and goats in Rio Rancho
Rio Rancho city council on Wednesday approved an ordinance allowing up to seven hens or immature roosters in lots of at least half an acre and up to three goats. Enclosures must be 15 feet from property lines and kept in backyards, with the measure taking effect 10 days after adoption.

City breaks ground for Broadmoor extension
City officials held a ceremonial groundbreaking Tuesday for the Broadmoor Boulevard extension from Northern Boulevard to Paseo del Volcan.
