RRPD Riders Shine At Inaugural Police Motorcycle Event
Rio Rancho Police Department riders posted strong showings at the Germaine Casey Invitational Police Motorcycle Training and Competition held over two days at Intel Corp. About 50 competitors from eight agencies participated. entry fees and donations to Special Olympics totaled $600. Organizers praised the inaugural event and plan to host again next year. Eggs N Beggin Dog Parade and Costume Contest
The Eyes N Beggin event starts at 10 a.m. on March 28 at Cabezon Recreation Center Cabezon Blvd. It features pet photos with the Laster bunny an egg hunt and a parade with a costume contest. Robber avoids prison for bus theft by entering recovery program
Rio Rancho man Matthew Chavez 25 was spared prison after a judge suspended sentencing for February 2014 crimes including stealing a city bus at knifepoint and attempting an armed robbery.
