DPS Reports May 31 To June 7 Incidents Albuquerque Rio Rancho

Public safety log lists multiple arrests for driving while intoxicated and reckless driving including Aaron White 39 of Albuquerque at Sara Road and Southern Boulevard. Also reports mail theft damage to mailboxes vandalism window breakins stolen license plate and shoplifting incidents involving youths from Sprouse Reitz. Numerous vehicle entries and a bicycle theft plus a pending bench warrant and rental item nonreturn.

Rio Rancho Court Fines Totaled 4690 In Period

The Rio Rancho Municipal Court collected 4690 in fines fees and costs during May 22 to June 4. Judge William R. Conner heard cases in which Lorraine Alcantar Albuquerque was fined 765 and jailed 60 days for DWI open container driving on suspended license cruelty to children and battery. Edwin Sibley Albuquerque was fined 460 and jailed 60 days for DWI and related charges. Ralph Roberson Albuquerque received 14 days for contempt of court. Joseph Ballman Jemez Springs was fined 515 and jailed 30 days for intoxication and careless driving with a deferred jail sentence and 300 suspended if he completes program community service and probation. John Gill Rio Rancho was sentenced to 14 days for contempt with a deferral plus probation and counseling. Debbie Lopez Rio Rancho was fined 465 for careless driving and open container with 250 suspended for restitution and first offender program attendance.

Brown letter warns SC courthouse unsafe and cramped

District Judge Kenneth G Brown writes to Sandoval County Commissioner Pete Salazar about dangerous conditions in the Sandoval County Courthouse. He cites inadequate second and third floor court facilities, a lack of elevator access for the third floor, and risks to juries and the public. He urges immediate plans to renovate or remodel and to address safety and civil rights concerns.
