Rio Rancho School District Referendum Registration Call

Rio Rancho residents are urged to register by June 16 to vote on July 28 whether to create the Rio Rancho Municipal School District. Contact Dorothea Pfefferkorn of the League of Women Voters at 892 1904, or register at the library with two registrars available in the morning, or with the City Clerk. Rio Rancho Council Defies Experts in May Meetings

In two May sessions the Rio Rancho City Council sketched a new approach to governance by dismissing expert data and logic. A 3.75 mill tax increase was defeated amid calls to cut 500000 from departmental needs. The Venada Airport site controversy led to unilateral sponsorship after earlier bipartisan support for bilateral study.
