Rio Rancho Boys & Girls Club renamed for Schumann couple
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central New Mexico honoring Douglas and Marie Schumann rename the Rio Rancho branch after the couple. Douglas Schumann, Navy veteran and former rear admiral, moved to Rio Rancho in 1987 and remained active in youth programs, Kiwanis, and the Juvenile Justice Board Scholarship Fund. Marie Schumann, a longtime Brooklyn counselor, died in 2003.
