Rio Rancho officials will consider a first reading of an ordinance to seize and auction vehicles of repeat DWI offenders or drivers with suspended or revoked licenses. The program costs about 300000 dollars annually and could pay for itself after year one. Public hearings and two readings are required for final adoption.

Unit 10 plan scales back intense land use
City Development Services staff trimmed high density housing and commercial areas in the Unit 10 generalized land use plan while preserving space for a business park and other development. The plan was presented at City Hall and moves to the Planning and Zoning Board at 6 p.m. Tuesday before final governing body approval next month.
