Rams rout Santa Fe in district dual wrestling
RRHS Rams opened district with wins over Santa Fe 61 9 on the Demons mat. Key pins by Rochford Hermanns Vigil Martinez and Gonzales with several wins by decision and forfeits. Coach Santos praised the effort as the team built a 3 0 district mark and next compete in Top of the Rockies then APS Metro Championships. RRHS also starts four week baseball camp February 7 directed by Ron Murphy with US Baseball Academy.

CHS presents second quarter grades for 211 student athletes across six sports at varsity JV and C levels. Overall CHS athletes average 3.19 GPA with sport specific figures from Athletic Coordinator Larry Chavez including varsity and JV cheer, basketball teams, wrestling, swimming and dance.

Storms explosive second half sinks Monarchs at home
The Cleveland High Storm routed Santa Fe 81 53 to extend their win streak to seven and stay undefeated in 2016 after a Christmas California swing. Marcus Hill led with 25 points, Williams added 17, Davis 11 and Cook 10 as Gibson, Williams and Hill combined for 34 points. The Monarchs fell 68 51 to the Storm earlier, with Hill scoring a career high 22 and Williams 16 as Cleveland tightened in the second half. Coach Brian Smith praised the team’s second half rally and defensive lift, while noting need to sharpen passes and communication ahead of district play. The Storm travel to Volcano Vista and Cibola this week, with the ESPN Radio broadcast of the Volcano Vista game.
