City offices and facilities will be closed on Monday in observance of the federal holiday honoring Martin Luther King Jr. His birthday is celebrated on the third Monday of January each year.

The state will own the building for 14 of 18 years, with ownership transferring to the county at lease end. Commissioner James Dominguez dissented.

Councillor Shelby Smith pushed the 20 percent amendment as Chuck Wilkins dissented and Mark Scott recused himself over a potential conflict of interest connected to Chamisa Hills Chamisa golf club now Club Rio Rancho.
Central New Mexico Community College asks voters to approve an 84 million dollar bond funding safety upgrades at Rio Rancho campus and other projects. If approved, a 200000 home would see about a 29 dollar rise per year as the capital levy increases from 0.45 to 1 percent, a first since 1996. CNM President Katherine Winograd says funds are needed to continue investment in the community.
