Sandoval County veterans project seeks $10,000 display space

Sandoval County Historical Society led by genealogist David C de Baca presented to county commissioners on a comprehensive veterans roster from Civil War to V-J Day. The effort aims to honor about 5,000 county residents, with hundreds of wartime photos and biographies, including 670 Rio Rancho veterans, and requests $10,000 plus permanent display space.

Head Start offers health care training for parents

Five Sandoval Indian Pueblos Head Start hosts a 5:30 to 7 p.m. session for families from Zia Cochiti and Santa Ana pueblos focused on diagnosing and treating simple child ailments ages 3 to 5. UCLA approved books and care kits provided. one on one guidance from health professionals aims to cut clinic and ER visits and reduce student absences.
