National memorial to honor Haase name

Rio Rancho officer Anthony Haase 24 who died en route to a domestic violence call in October will have his name added to the National Law Enforcement Memorial in Washington D C during National Police Week in May. City transfers from utility fund questioned by councilor

The City of Rio Rancho transfers funds from its utility enterprise to the general fund each year. The utility, which operates as a separate entity, makes a general and administrative payment and a PILOT payment to the general fund. This year the utility paid about $1.3 million in these transfers.

Hull's a Star Hull's a Star

Rio Rancho Mayor Gregg Hull joined several others Thursday afternoon at the Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort to receive a commemorative New Mexico Stars jersey as the team announced its return for the 2016 season after last playing at Santa Ana Star Center and going dark this season. AT&T Wins Corrales Tower Lawsuit Court ruling favors telecom plan

The Village of Corrales faces an appeal after a March 25 federal ruling that forced the village to permit AT&T to build a cellular tower at the end of Academy Drive near Sandia View Academy. Judge Martha Vazquez said the village had effectively prohibited tower construction, citing coverage gaps and master plan conflicts.
