RRHS Soccer Youth Camp Set For June 8 To 12

The RRHS girls soccer program invites boys and girls ages 4 to 14 to a five day camp from 9 a.m. to noon at RRHS soccer fields. Camp runs June 8 through 12 with registration available via the ARHS girls soccer website or by calling coach Uwe Balzis at 206 4315.

Former Rams softball standout Shelby Pendley earns ESPNW Player of the Week after a .692 week with four homers and multiple extra base hits including a sweep at Texas and a win over Arkansas. Pendley added two pitching wins in 2 2/3 innings while freshman Paipe Parker led in pitching duties.

Marilyn Sepulveda Meet honors late Alamogordo coach

At the Marilyn Sepulveda Meet of Champions at UNM, Rio Rancho High School swept two titles with John Finnegan posting 48.44 in the 400 and Merica Valdez vaulting 10-6 while Cleveland High’s Sarah Mackin won the 300 hurdles in 45.19. Other RRHS placers included Nia Powdrell and Larimar Rodriguez, with Josh Foley and Steve Bailey taking thirds.
