Chapman presses for county transparency and collaboration

Sandoval County Commissioner Don Chapman urged greater openness during Thursday's meeting, renewing calls to videotape and post commission sessions and to explore costed proposals. He urged cross jurisdiction talks with Rio Rancho and others to align overlapping county city efforts. The board also approved design bids for a Cuba wastewater project, a county community center, a dispatch services joint powers agreement, and 22 final plats in Placitas. UNM Sandoval Regional Medical Center reported rising clinic, ER visits and surgeries through February, while Cochiti Pueblo outlined a 100000-visitor annual count and a five-phase $22 million development plan with a shuttle, visitor center, gas station, shopping and lodging components, no timetable set.

Rio Rancho schools reiterate immunization rules for attendance

Rio Rancho Public Schools is registering kindergarteners for 2015 16 and reminding families that state law requires up to date vaccines for attendance. The district notes a 30 day window to provide proof or evidence of upcoming immunizations or a valid exemption.
