It Was A Whale Of A Ball Game
Baseball fans witnessed a legendary Region 7 title duel as Seth faced Marsh Fork in a 14 inning thriller. Joe Jarrell and Otis Dickens combined for nineteen and seventeen strikeouts respectively, while a controversial third inning protest over a fielder’s interference was upheld by a Beekley Newspapers panel. Ted Lacy’s rib hit and Romine’s late defensive plays powered Marsh Fork to a dramatic tie and a tense finish, with Seth’ s frustration fueling a contentious ending and a lingering debate over umpire calls.
