Rosedale School Reopens After Remodeling Expansion
Rosedale Elementary School in East Oak Hill is back in use after a full remodeling and expansion. The building has doubled in size with five new classrooms to serve Lochgelly children whose school burned. Principal James Murphy calls this a permanent arrangement with upgraded facilities including an audio visual room, enhanced cafeteria, and temperature controlled, fire alarm protected classrooms. The February 1961 storm had earlier torn the original roof and walls, while Lochgelly School later burned and its students were moved to Mount Hope during construction.
